What data we collect and why

The short version

We collect the minimum: email, name, photo and whatever you publish yourself. No ads, no trackers. You can delete your account and all your data at any time from Settings.

1. What data we collect

We try to collect as little as possible:

  • Email โ€” for sign-in and account recovery. It's not shown to other users.
  • Name and profile photo โ€” you set these yourself. Visible to others in listings and chats. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email from the provider and store them in your AlanyaHelp profile; we never receive your provider password.
  • Listings, messages, reviews โ€” content you publish in the app.
  • Technical device data: model, OS version, language, anonymous install identifier and push-notification token. Used for app stability, delivering notifications and abuse protection.
  • Optional contacts (WhatsApp, Telegram) โ€” shown to others only if you add them to your profile yourself.

AlanyaHelp does not collect or require a phone number.

2. Why we need this data

  • To run your account: sign-in, recovery, message notifications.
  • To show your listings to other users.
  • Moderation: handling reports, catching scammers, protecting the platform from spam and rating manipulation.
  • Sending important account notifications (sign-in, password change, support replies).
  • Contacting you from the official AlanyaHelp account in chat โ€” for example, with the result of a report or a warning about a violation.

We do not sell or share data with advertisers. AlanyaHelp has no ads, no personalised trackers, no marketing profiling.

3. Who we share data with

We share data only with providers we can't run the app without:

  • Google Firebase (Google Ireland Limited) โ€” authentication, database, photo storage, push notifications, App Check protection. Data is stored on Google servers.
  • Resend (Resend, Inc.) โ€” sending email codes and support emails. Receives only your email and the email body.
  • Apple and Google โ€” only if you choose "Sign in with Apple" or "Sign in with Google". They verify your identity and pass us your name and email; we don't send any data back to them.

We don't share data with third parties for advertising, cross-app behavioural analytics or anything else unrelated to running the service. Data is shared with law enforcement only on a justified, lawful request.

4. Where and how long data is stored

Data is stored in Google Firebase (regions us-central1 for Firestore and Cloud Functions, the standard Cloud Storage bucket). Transport between app and server is TLS-encrypted.

Retention:

  • Account and profile โ€” for as long as the account exists.
  • Listings โ€” while they're active or hidden by you.
  • Chat messages โ€” until either side deletes their account.
  • Technical event logs (sign-in, errors) โ€” up to 90 days.

After account deletion personal data is wiped within 30 days; Firebase backups fully roll over within 60 days.

5. Your rights

At any time you can:

  • View and edit your data โ€” Profile โ†’ Edit profile, Settings.
  • Delete a listing or message โ€” via the "โ‹ฏ" menu.
  • Hide yourself from search โ€” Settings โ†’ Privacy โ†’ Show in search.
  • Delete your account and all data โ€” Settings โ†’ Data โ†’ Delete account. The action is irreversible.

Data export requests or complaints about processing โ€” via Profile โ†’ Help, or by email at privacy@alanyahelp.com. We reply within 30 days.

6. App permissions

AlanyaHelp asks for device permissions only when needed:

  • Camera and photos โ€” to upload a listing photo or avatar. Photos are not sent to the server without your confirmation.
  • Location โ€” to show nearby listings and pin a point on the map when you create a listing. We don't track your movements continuously in the background.
  • Notifications โ€” to deliver chat messages and support replies. You can turn them off in system settings or Settings โ†’ Notifications.

You can deny any permission at any time in your device settings โ€” the app keeps working, but the related feature won't be available.

7. Children

AlanyaHelp is intended for users aged 16 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we learn that an account belongs to an underage child, we delete it together with all related data. Report such accounts to privacy@alanyahelp.com.

8. Cookies and tracking

The AlanyaHelp mobile app does not use cookies and does not embed third-party advertising SDKs for cross-app tracking (we don't read IDFA / AAID either).

The alanyahelp.com website only uses technical cookies required for the page to work.

9. Policy updates

For substantial changes we notify you in the app (notification screen and/or a new app version). The latest update date is at the bottom of this page. By continuing to use AlanyaHelp after the policy is updated, you agree to the new version.
